Individual Therapy in New York
I offer psychodynamic, trauma-informed therapy for individuals in NYC (in-person and via telehealth) and across New York State via telehealth.
I work with adults navigating anxiety, burnout, complex trauma, childhood sexual abuse, and relationship patterns that feel difficult to change. I also work with those moving through grief, loss, and major life transitions.
Many of the adults I see are thoughtful and capable. They’re able to function at work or in their daily lives, but something feels unsettled beneath the surface. Many are dealing with shame, emotional overwhelm, self-doubt, or a persistent sense that something isn’t quite right. Others find themselves repeating the same relational dynamics, shutting down emotionally, or feeling disconnected when it comes to relationships and intimacy.
In our work together, we slow down and explore how early attachment experiences, trauma, and adaptive patterns continue to shape your present life. My approach integrates relational psychodynamic therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and somatic work to help you build emotional awareness, reduce reactivity, feel more connected to yourself and others, and develop a more rooted sense of self.
This work is not primarily focused on coping skills. It is depth-oriented and collaborative, focused on understanding the roots of your patterns so meaningful change becomes possible.
This work may be a good fit if you:
Appear “put together” but feel anxious or self-critical internally
Are navigating burnout or identity strain in a demanding career
Are a survivor of complex trauma or childhood sexual abuse
Are experiencing the impact of grief, loss, or a major life transition
Struggle with emotional closeness, conflict, or recurring relationship pain
Have the sense that something deeper is going on, even if you can’t name it
I welcome those of all backgrounds and provide affirming LGBTQ+ therapy.
If you’re considering therapy, I offer a free consultation to see whether working together feels like a good fit.
